《牛津英语大词典》 通常简称为OED，是一部公认的权威历史性英语语文词典。第一任主编詹姆斯.默雷（James A.H.Murray）是著名的语言学家，所以又称“默雷词典”（Murray’s Dictionary），原书名是《新英语词典》（年代顺序版）（New English Dictionary on Historical Principle）,故又称NED，NED是在1858年由英国语文学会组织筹备编写，1884-1928年出版。《牛津英语大辞典》（12卷）自1928年出版发行以来是世界公认的有史以来最伟大的英文辞典，赢得了“辞典中的圣经”的美誉。

《牛津英语大词典》目前最新版本为20卷本第二版，收词超过50万条，引证例句250万条，全部发音使用国际音标标注，词条及例句涵盖了所有英语国家的地方英语，包括北美、南非、澳大利亚、新西兰和加勒比等等，并且给出了词源分析以及不同地方英语的拼写差异。

该词典特点：几乎囊括了1150年以来见于文献的所有语词。如乔叟、高沃尔和莎士比亚等著名作家只是用过一次的罕见词，OED也如数照收，卷帙浩繁，编写原则谨严，全书浑然一体，是一部追溯词源，查考历史词汇，具有极高学术价值和实用价值的语文词典。

这是国外网站找来的，原先是免安装便携版，我制作成了ISO镜像，使用和保存更加便捷。本版兼容 Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000。光盘的原版说明，是说兼容Mac OS X v.10.4x 、10.5x的，但这个版本可能在制作时，去掉了Mac支持。
注意，本光盘不含发音文件，点击swhx.exe直接使用
