Whether as pattern drawing in the medieval pattern book, when “study after nature”, when draft for a painting, a Fresko or a sculpture whether as experimentation field or collecting object, signatures belong to the most precious certifications of the artists, who are delivered to us today. On five CD-ROM more than 5000 designs of important masters are in highly soluble illustrations represented. All works are opened by a carefully compiled data base. It makes searches possible after artists, its life data and effect places as well as after the titles, developing data, masses and techniques of the designs, its stylistic classification and its current repositories.
